For business offices
Buying with a purchase order.
Most schools pay this way, though paying online by card works too.
- Request a quoteTell us the school's name and billing contact. We'll send a formal quote, along with a W-9 or other vendor forms if you need them.
- Send your purchase orderEmail the PO to us. Tax-exempt schools can include their exemption certificate.
- Install and activateOnce the order is confirmed, your athletic trainer downloads Lulu EMR and gets a key for each computer.
- Pay the invoicePay by check or bank transfer. It's a one-time cost, so there's nothing to renew next year.
Five years of one Group license (up to 4 athletic trainers). The second line assumes two new major versions come out in that time and you buy both $499 upgrades, which is up to you. The subscription is just an example for comparison.
For athletic directors and principals
Documentation you can stand behind.
When a parent, doctor or administrator asks what happened, you'll have a complete answer that's dated and signed.
- Concussions are handled step by step, with symptom scores, and each return-to-learn and return-to-play stage is signed off before the athlete goes back.
- Emergencies get their own timeline note, and heat and vitals have their own logs.
- Signed notes lock. Corrections are added as dated addenda, and every edit is kept.
- Each injured athlete is marked Full, Limited or Out, so you and the coaches know who's available.
- Season reports show visits, injuries and time by season, team and date range. Exported spreadsheets leave names out.
For data privacy reviews
Student data never comes to us.
Lulu EMR has no cloud service, so we never receive, store or process your students' information. That usually makes a district's privacy review short.
- We don't receive any student data, and there are no analytics or ads.
- The records belong to your school. You can export them at any time, in a format that opens on Mac or Windows.
- If your district has a student data privacy agreement, send it over and we'll go through it with you.
- Lulu EMR doesn't claim HIPAA or FERPA compliance. It gives you strong safeguards, and your district decides how they fit its policies.
For IT departments
There's nothing to host.
Lulu EMR is a desktop app. There's no server to run, no single sign-on to set up and no firewall rule to add.
- It runs on macOS 12 or later and Windows 10 or 11. An iPhone app is coming soon.
- You can install it silently, with a .pkg for Jamf or Kandji or a setup program for Intune. Every file comes with a checksum.
- Records are encrypted on disk and unlocked with Touch ID or Windows Hello. The key never leaves the computer.
- It makes no internet connections, so there are no update checks or telemetry.
- It backs up locally every day, and can keep encrypted copies in the school's OneDrive.
Questions administrators ask
Before you sign off.
What happens to our records if our athletic trainer leaves?
The records belong to the school and stay on its computers. Keep the recovery passphrase and the backup passphrase on file at the school (sealed with the athletic director, for example) so the next athletic trainer can open the records from the backup.
What if we stop using Lulu EMR?
Nothing gets switched off. The version you bought keeps working, the records stay on your computers, and you can export them whenever you want.
Do we need to sign a contract?
Using Lulu EMR means accepting the software license agreement. If your school needs a signed agreement, ask us for our organization license agreement.
Does it connect to our student information system?
No. You bring rosters in by pasting from a spreadsheet, which takes about a minute, and reports export as spreadsheets without names. Keeping it separate is part of why no student data leaves the building.
How long does it take to get started?
About 10 minutes. The app walks the athletic trainer through the school's name, the staff, backups and the roster, and there's a built-in demo with made-up athletes.
Can we try it before we buy?
Yes. Download it and open the demo, or ask about a pilot in your own training room.
