Download and install
Everything comes in one download: the Mac app, the Windows setup program, both uninstallers, the backup viewer, the user and administrator guides, and SHA-256 checksums.
Download Lulu EMR 1.0.0 (Mac and Windows, 19 MB)Activate a computer
The first time Lulu EMR opens, it asks for a license key. If you don't have one yet, you can still try the demo, which uses made-up athletes.

Install on a Mac
- Open the .dmg file you downloaded.
- Drag Lulu EMR onto Applications.
- Open Lulu EMR from Applications or Launchpad. It shows the license screen first (see Activate each computer), then walks you through setting up your training room.
There's nothing else to install. IT departments can deploy the .pkg silently instead; the administrator guide explains how.
Install on Windows
- Run Lulu EMR 1.0.0 (Windows) Setup UNSIGNED.exe.
- Follow the steps, then click Open Lulu EMR at the end.
To install for all users, or silently with a tool like Intune, see the administrator guide.
Activate each computer
- Open Lulu EMR. The license screen shows the computer's code, which looks like
ABCDE-FGHJK. - On any phone or computer, go to the activation page and enter the code and the email address you paid with.
- Paste the key it gives you into Lulu EMR and choose Activate.
Each key only works on the computer it was made for. A Group license covers 4 computers and up to 4 athletic trainers, and an Individual license covers 1 of each. After activation, Lulu EMR never needs the internet, and keys don't expire. Paid with a purchase order? Send us the codes and we'll email you the keys.
Check a download
The download includes SHA256SUMS.txt. To make sure a file arrived intact, compare its checksum with the one listed there:
- Mac (Terminal):
shasum -a 256 "Lulu EMR 1.0.0 (Mac) UNSIGNED.dmg" - Windows (Command Prompt):
certutil -hashfile "Lulu EMR 1.0.0 (Windows) Setup UNSIGNED.exe" SHA256
The iPhone app (coming soon)
An iPhone app is coming soon. It pairs with the Mac app over your local network, so you can sign athletes in, write notes and run home programs from the field. Pairing with the Windows app isn't available in 1.0.0. We'll announce it here when it's ready.
Updating
Lulu EMR doesn't update itself or check for updates online. When a new 1.x release comes out, download it from this page and install it over the old one. Your records stay where they are, and Lulu EMR backs them up first.
Uninstall
On a Mac, choose Lulu EMR → Uninstall Lulu EMR… in the menu bar, or open Uninstall Lulu EMR from the disk image. On Windows, choose Uninstall Lulu EMR from the Start menu.
Uninstalling leaves your encrypted records in place, so if you reinstall, you pick up where you left off. To remove them for good, export a copy first, then delete the records folder yourself.
